On New Years Day '99 my cousin and I found an old SBI Master in my basement, and we competed to see who could get the most bounces, then just naturally started trying tricks the next day.
Pogo sticks because well... I guess because no one else was really doing it at the time. I saw potential in it as a sport, and wanted to see where it could go. Today it has exceeded my expectations several times over, and there's a great community based around it that keeps me going.
Right now I'm working with Fred and two other guys to form a new street show called Stunt Double Circus. We're planning on touring the show this summer. I've got a few plans for XPogo coming up in my mind too - some sort of community based video project, in particular.
In my opinion one of the most interesting things happening right now is the development of what I've been calling the "second generation" of pogoers. Most of the people who started around the same time as me did so without knowing there were even other pogoers out there. Now, thanks in a large part to sites like YouTube and XPogo, the sport is much more well known. People are now buying pogo sticks with a preexisting knowledge of what can be done on them and through studying videos and interacting with the community their pushing the sport further and further every day.
